LoD vent thread(necessary)
So this is purely to vent my frustrations, you've probably heard this story before.
I ordered my lod front a rear bumpers on April 10. I was told that they would have a 4 week lead time. Which I was fine with. I decide around three weeks into it, I would email them to see how they were coming along. No reply! The next day I email again, no reply. (who doesn't communicate electronically in 2010)
At this point I'm annoyed, and I call David at north ridge since he had just received an order from lod. I call David to see if he has them in stock. David calls the guys from lod and they call me within ten minutes of me hanging up the phone with David(I shouldn't have to call another vendor to get a hold of the one I initially wanted speak to, out of fear from a cancelled order). Lod requested for future communications I just give them a call instead of relying on e-mail. They also tell me that I could expect my bumpers on May 10. Ok!
May 10 rolls around and I decide to CALL to see where we are no answer, I called about 4-6 times and left 2 messages on the 10 and 11. They never get a hold of you. Any time I've talked to anyone it's because someone just happened to pick up. Finally get a hold of someone and they tell me that I should get the front by the end of the week and the rear the beginning of the the following week.
So long story short, I received my front, however it is the 28 and have still not received my rear. I called at about 4 o'clock today(well within there supposed hours of operation). And no calls back once again.
Anyway, sorry for the rant, I just think that lod really needs to brush up on there communication skills. And be much more fourth coming on lead times. Had I known I need to wait 7-8 weeks I probably would have dealt locally with shrockworks. They make a bad ass product, and if my rear comes in and is anything like my front I'll be stoked. It's 2010 time to star learning how to email your customers.

I will be buying LOD bumpers when I save a few more sheckels, but they will be coming from a vendor that has them in stock. I do not see a bumper as a special order item; there are many manufacturers that need a lesson in customer service. Having said that, would there be a need for sales outlets like quad and Northridge if the manufacturers did the job right.
i loved lods rear bumper untill i herd about how they handled there orders. im so glad i went and looked around for other bumpers. the company i went with has the best cs ever. it was at my house the day it was supposed to be and the owner sat on the phone with me and walked me through piece buy piece when i was installing my rear bumper.
Yes they do. Every time, for me, anyway. But, to be truthful, there is little point calling them to find out when a product will be delivered. It will be left at your door when it is ready, and you will be delighted with the quality. But speed is definitely not their forte. Regardless, I wouldn't trade any of my Shrockworks products for anything made by anyone else. Period. It WAS worth the wait.

I once started a thread a few weeks ago that inadvertently turned into "Bash on LOD" by several other members. My rear bumper arrived with some cosmetic damage to it, and the boxes were completely destroyed. Bad packing job for sure. I like the rear bumper, though I am a bit concerned about rust over the long term (it's showing rust in certain areas). I also had to wait 6-8 weeks, and it shipped a week after LOD told me it would. Getting a tracking number was a total PITA as well.
As for the cosmetic damage ... after two calls and emails, Northridge 4x4 still hasn't provided me with touch-up paint. I suppose I fell through the cracks and will have to remind them again. Same with the safety chains that I specifically asked for when I placed my original order. :(
All things considered, I'm not sure whether or not I will purchase the LOD front bumper; if Shrockworks can ramp up turn-around time, then I will order one instead (it will go well with my LOD rear). I was also going to order LOD rock rails but have since decided to go with Off Road Evo's - TOTALLY BAD @SS!
One thing though: every time I have called LOD, someone has answered and has provided me with great customer service.
