I have a thing that is microfiber stuff on one side and a sort of nylon mesh on the other side. The mesh works pretty well in getting the bugs off with regular car wash soap and water. I'm going to try the RainX thing, sounds logical.

After you get the bugs off, I recommend Rejex. It is a wax like coating that goes on super easy, and the bugs don't stick to it. I drive 32 miles each way to work through corn fields. The bugs really suck, but they don't stick after I Rejex'd the Jeep.

[QUOTE=necros;571200] I will prolly get one sooner or later though just for washing in general, I'd be too scared to bring a soft top to the car wash.. unless I can find one of those high school fundraisder carwashes and get those cute lil school girls in bikinis to clean the bugs outta my grill

Sorry this is my first use/abuse of this and couldn't think of a better thread to highjack......

don't use simple green , over time you will regret it. bug and tar remover woks but still have to spend time on it. after you use it and clean up the jeep make sure you wax it up really well and when ever you get bugs, spray them off as soon as you can so they do not bake on. if you need to use a scraper make sure you use some type of lube like soap and water or bug remover and scrape with plastic , like a credit card or something of the likes. good luck.

I've used this stuff for years and it works great.
You just put some on a rag and rub the bug. It disoves tar and bug guts.
x2 I use this with the microfiber and it works great and yes we have bugs in AZ believe it or not.

I use hydrogen-peroxide, it works very well and is crazy cheap... I don't know about it harming the finish, but I just put it on a paper towel, or a rag, not the window and it dissoves bugs on contact....

for 64 cents, you can't beat it...

besides, I keep it in the Jeep as part of a first-aid kit.

I use the 3m aerosol glass cleaner.. get it at the napa store.. spray it on let it soak in and start to dry up.. spray again and use a nice heavy paper towel.. takes it right off.. the prep all works too but I never remember to get some,, and the glass cleaner fits well under the seat with the paper towels..
