I've had mine for 2 years and the only problem was the compass quit working correctly. I haven't taken it in to fix that problem yet. I would recommend a Jk to everyone

In the 5k miles that I've owned it, I've found more rattles than any other vehicle I've owned. The top is more complicated than tuning the carbs on my Triumph and it sucks more gas than a backhoe!

But if I were to win the lottery, I wouldn't part with it for anything!!! In short, I love the stupid thing! Cant' explain it...I guess it's just a Jeep thing.
Julian, I've also walked the same path and have the same opinion. I mean the other day I went by a Mobil 1 service station and pulled in for an oil change. I had 1 quart of oil left in the JK. It has 37k on the vehicle and I have an oil leak. For everyone, at 1 qt there is a slight ding which if you have the radio on you will not hear.

Crawled underneath the thing and the seal to oil pan looked fine but the bolts only 2 inches above it were loose so I tightened them up. Not one scratch on the oil pan so I didn't hit anything it just started leaking. Now every night I crawl under it to see if any new oil is leaking. It's hard as hell to tell because my whole underside is full of oil. I tend to think at least twice a month why didn't I just get the tundra super cab. Bigger engine more power, blah blah and no issues!!!

I still love it so I cannot explain.

Ive had mine about a year or so and have 16000 miles on it and have had no problems. Its not a car or a V8 truck. Its a jeep. ITs the best of both worlds.
convertible that you can drive anywhere. I would get another one.

14,000 miles and I've had a boat load of issues. Leaky top, ball joints, tie rod, steering bo, axle seal leak. It has been a nightmare. But as others have said I still have mine. I just can't seem to part with it because there is no other vehicle like it. I really wish Crapsler would just get their act together and improve quality.

I love it with all of its warts!--its been mentioned numerous times in the preceeding replies, there's nothing else like it in the world-period.-I cannot imagine owning any other car or truck, period. nothing. I'm that much of a freak about it. I have never in my life, literally, dreamed of giving a vehicle to my son when its time to "pass the torch" so to speak. Lately though, it may be passed to my daughter-they'll have to wrestle for the keys!

Well I started this thread before I had my Jeep, mainly because of all the negativity I was reading about the JK. I have owned 2 - 4x4s in the past, 1- Chevy and 1-Ford, and had all sorts of issues, that turned me against the big 3. I was very reluctant to spend $30,000 on a vehicle that seemed to have all sorts of "Odd" problems, and I was just going to get a 2006, but I just liked the look of the JK better. Well just after Thanksgiving I found a used 2008 Rubicon for a deal I could not pass up, so far no issues and I just love driving it ! Every time I go somewhere, I feel like it's an adventure...and I"m gettin' it done! I have to say I enjoy this vehicle more than any other I've owned

11/ 08 with 22,000 and I still turn around and check it out every time I get out of it! It is my first Jeep and there isn't another vehicle out there I would rather have.
