I've seen Chrysler send newly released TJ's through the Rubicon, before they even had the Rubicon version.
There "trail rating" tests were before there was a Rubicon version of the JK.

I too will be doing this with a 2.5 lift and 35's. Anybody with this set up have any body damage
after taking the bypasses? And do the bypasses take you on some 1/2 mile detore before you meet back up with your group or are they pretty close together?

Do people run the rubicon in the snow season and if so how do you get out after like a three foot snow fall over night?

There are only a few places I think a stock JK would have any problems on the Rubicon. I would not try it with stock tires unless you were 100% sure it's not going to rain on you. But the only things I'd are must haves are another vehicle, a good sleeping bag and plenty of time.

I was always under the impression that the RUBICON TJ's and JK's were manufactured under one premise: make a production vehicle that has the major upgrades that the majority of folks most commonly make to their jeeps that will enable it to do the Rubicon trail right out of the box, with no additional mods necessary. I thought that was how Chrysler designed the vehicle because so many people were complaining "if they'd only....they should....why don't they make a production vehicle that already has these most common mods, it would sell like CRAZY!!"

I think they were right!

Jeep up to 2006 ran all there Jeep models over the Rubicon even the first liberty. They stopped when the trail rated version came out.

If all this is true, you can run it with a stock Jeep. Whats the deal with the guy on the 2nd project jk video with a stock JKU Rubi (New tires) that had been on it for 4 days moving 2 ft at a time with wood blocks to get over the rocks rationing 3 gummy bears each a day...? Is this a testament to the statement its more the driver than the jeep? Or are these opinions skewed ?
