Default Modified Jeep

Hey All,

I was just curious when everyone considers a jeep a modified Jeep? Is it the first actual mod completed (Ex Grab handles in the back) or do you have to cross some physical change (Ex 2" lift with 35s)? I was just curious. Personally I still find my jeep very stock since I've only added windshield lights, hand built grab handles and a garage hoist to lift the top off. This allows me to justify saving for new parts to my jeep a "modified jeep"

I feel that you can consider a jeep modified if it is a completely different size and shape from the day you bought it. I never considered it modified until I atleast got a lift under it.

I am also a firm believer that there is a difference between a "modified jeep" and an "accessorized jeep".

yeah i feel like my jeep is pretty heavily modified, but because ive stuck with stock tires, it doesnt look it at all. only my recent addition of some diff covers really sets it off. i have a lift (replaced almost every part of the stock suspension), after market lights, new headlights, rock rails, limb risers, wheel spacers, pulled the carpet, added a cb, added some grab handles, and a bumper with stinger. but those diff plates are the only thing that really make it stand out!

Lifts stand out to me. I wave to 4x4's covered in mud more than anything else.
Trails up here are pretty tight so most of the trail rigs are Cherokees, Wranglers, Yodas and Sammi's.

Sure plenty of big trucks and Hummers about but most have 24" chrome wheels and axle block lifts.

I know a lot of people that wheel with no lift, no new wheels and tires, just stock. They go just about anywhere with no problems. There is nothing wrong with a modified jeeps. I like them all. I use my jeep as my daily driver, a lot of driving. I think i will wait till I am out of warranty until I lift and change wheels.

Agreed, there is no need to modify if it does everything you need it to. The OP didnt ask if modified rigs were considered more capable.
