I knew a while ago someone asked about the Half Door Kit Mopar was working on. Has anybody heard any news updates about it? I'm about to email them and find out. Considering they include half doors on all 2010 models for free the kit better be pretty cheap.

 

for free? where did you see that? it knocks 500 off the price if you ordered a unlimited with them

what do you think is cheap? 1-3k? the rumors were 1k for 2dr and 2k for 4 door but I'd be very surprised number one if they actually come out and 2 that they are even that cheap

 

Agreed. Just the outer skins are $982. That's no inside panel or door handle hardware. Mopar is still pretty proud of the JK.

If you build a JK on jeep.com and click the half door option the price says included. That's what I mean by free.

I heard the rumors as well. 1k for halves would be great. I guess I'll email Jeep and hope to get some answers.

I say about $1500 for 2 would be cheap for me.

thats a ripoff, they dont give you a discount ordering half doors forthe 2dr but give you 500 off if you order them for the 4dr, the 2dr then should give you 250 off

 

a FREE downgrade to half doors.

I know many of us want the half doors over the full but the full doors do cost more and as said in above post should actually cost LESS if ordered from the factory.

 

The full door shell is about $300 cheaper ... If you were to add up all the pieces the 1/2 door would probably cost more than the full door ....

 

I have an Unlimited and would love to have half doors. That being said, I'm not gonna fork out a few thousand dollars for "half" of a full size door that is ridiculously over priced.

On the other hand, I plan to own my JK until I die (hopefully a very long time from now) so in 5 or 10 years I should be able to pick up a pair of half doors for cheap from the junk yard.
