mt's vs at's
I am trying to decide on mud tires or at's. I have only had my jk for about a month and I plan on doing some off roading. I really would like to buy the mts but I am a little concerned on the wear and the handling since this is my everyday vehicle and I drive about 60-70 miles everyday.
Any thoughts? Anybody buy the mts and wish the had ats? I really like the look of the mts.

I've had both on jeeps and I didn't have a problem with MTs on the road. If you get great big super swampers etc yes they would be a pain on long drives. So in my opinion I would get MT's. In fact as soon as I can I'm going to get some along the lines of the Dick Cepek or Maxxis type MT's. I bought the JK for off roading and here in Oregon we have alot of mud, in a drier area I might go with an AT. NO I wouldn't I like the looks to much to go to an AT.

I drive mostly on road with very little offroad (hoping to change that). I use bfg mt's and the current set has ~45k miles on them and they won't need replacing until the end of the year. I expect at least 50k miles out of them.
Those are beauts. http://www.4wheelonline.com/Products...roductId=71729

It is all about balance and rotation, with mine I started every 3k miles. Then I got tired of going so often and I am doing it every 4.5k miles (along with my oil change schedule).
Now I only drive ~10k miles / year so I am not doing much very oftern.

I drive around 18K a year on the paved road-
It is my understanding too that I can expect about 40- 50K in miles on my tires, which is cool.
TJworld also brought up an important point:
Rotation every oil change.
