Not sure if it was covered or not. If it was...sorry. Is it bad to leave mud on your Jeep? Will it hurt anything?

it sure will... if you leave it on for a year or two.

if it cakes up enough on the engine, it can cause components to over heat. Clean up the engine bay and leave the rest as dirty as you want.

Jeep looks GREAT BTW.

If you rub against the dry mud the pait may scratch.
It's harder to get off when it's dry.

Now I have a question, Is there a way to keep the mud out of the engine compartment???

I wheeled in a place with deep water and tons of florida mud. The next day I had the hood open and some guy walked over and said "looks like your radiator exploded, sorry about that. I just kept working. So no it won't block the mud especially if it's diarrhea mud.

Depending on the mineral content of the mud, it can stain the fenders and clear coat if you let it stay on long enough. I had it happened to a white XJ a few years ago. It was covered it black sticky coal mud, I left it on for about two weeks. Besides being hard to get off because it was dry and caked on, it also left grayish spots all over the jeep. I was eventually able to buff it out with some agressive compound, but I know I took off alot of the clear coat. And the paint never really looked as "white" again. I have also seen clay stain fender flairs. So now I just wash it as soon as I can to be on the safe side.

as long as you are not going through super deep mud holes... typically its is the watery mud the really splashes around in the engine bay. Slow and steady (2 or 3 mph) through them can avoid a lot of the splash. but often... that is not near as satisfying as blasting through them and seeing a roosters tail of muddy water spray up on both sides of your jeep.

have it steam cleaned. It costs between 35 and 70 bux last time i checked.
