Exclamation My experience with Quadratec...

In case fellow Canadians would like to order from Quadratec, you might want to know that they will ask you for "a front and back copy of your Photo ID, a front and back copy of your Credit Card and a portion of your billing statement containing the card number". That's completely inappropriate, in my opinion, so I cancelled my order and will shop elsewhere.

What were you ordering, out of curiosity?

AEV corner guards, Husky liners, straps, d-rings and snatch blocks. Nothing I can't find elsewhere...

As I was reading about that run-around I thought maybe you were ordering an immigration application or mail order bride or something.......

Maybe they misunderstood item #5?

I understand the frustration though. I had to work in the Hamilton/Burlington Ontario area post 9-11 for a time, it was hell to get stuff from the shop in the U.S. sent up there. Paperwork up the wazoo.

Maybe it has something to do with the international thing as well? If so, it isnt their fault. They probably hate it too, i know we did.

Nawwww... I order stuff from the US every week, from a ton of vendors (large and small), and none has any checkout process remotely like this. Most have a CVV check though (3 digits on back of card), which I think Quadratec's checkout system doesn't support. Maybe they should rethink their ordering system - you know, to avoid having their customers jump through hoops to place a simple order. Anyway, like I said, plenty of other retailers on the net...

I got ya on item #5
Strange thing here is...we order stuff from the States and Europe more often than I like to admitt....something to do with buying domestic and supporting the locals...you know how it is.
We've never heard of this kind of thing prpbably cause the only thing that really matters is you just don't ship it out until the card transaction is confirmed.

I have ordered from them without incident in the past & look forward to the catalog showing up, but i have to agree, if it is cumbersome for you to order, i would move on as well.

I hope you can get your stuff quckly. Did you try calling them or was it an online order? I ordered via the web.

In all fairness to you and Quadratec that sounds like a pain in the ass and not worth it to me. Quadratec however has always been a great place for me to shop and they have been extremely fast. Goodluck with your order and tell us how you like your new items.
