My factory Mopar AIR / Wind deflectors tried to kill me, literaly!
So I installed the factory Mopar wind deflectors on the Rubicon last night. They serve their purpose well and I thought all was well... This morning on the way to work I lowered my window about 3/4 down to feel for a breeze. Very little wind made its way into the cabin. I stuck my hand out the window palm side up to feel how cold it was out. Upon bringing my hand back into the window my palm caught the edge of the new wind deflector. It sliced my wrist wide open. I could not believe what I was seeing!
After cleaning the blood off my door I bandaged the wound up. If anyone else has these please check and see if your edges are razor sharp. This is not a good thing, especially if your passenger doesnt know about it and decides to stick their hand out the window. God forbid it be a child.....

ok now i seen what this is hanging above your window , this part looks like and has proven to be a real threat to the population. not to mention i would think about a phone call to the manufacture or attorney regarding this knife edged wrist cutting possible gilloutine

Too bad you werent the one cleaning blood off your 2 week old rubicon....
thanks for the heads up.
I have had these on since i purchased my Jeep. I did notice when i installed mine they had a crisp edge on them, but not terribly sharp. I ran a brown scrubby (carefully) along the edge on them to smooth it off a bit.

I appreciate the heads-up, and am sorry to hear you got hurt. If I ever buy these, I would definitely do what HC suggested above - the Mopar visors I had on my Durango were similarly like plastic blades, and cut me during the install.
On a positive note, if you follow that silly "Jeep Wave" ratings system, every Jeep-caused scar on YOU nets you bonus points.
Again, thanks for putting the word out.
