I haven't had the opportunity yet to pull anybody out of a situation with my JK.....do you always put the Jeep in 4hi or 4lo no matter what the conditions when pulling someone out?

Typically I am in 4hi, unless I need the extra pull of 4lo. So far I am pull on snow covered roads so I don't need to worry about using 4wd on dry surfaces.

Sadly, I don't have $20 to keep in there recently

I believe 09 and older, you got either the tow hook in the rear middle or the tow hitch. Newer ones now have a side tow hook in the driver side rear and a hitch in the middle. If you just have the hitch get you a receiver hitch insert with a D ring attachment. If you have just the tow hook, loop the tow strap in the hook. D rings are better.

Keep an eye on the For Sale Forum. There's usually someone getting rid of their factory tow hook or trailer hitch receiver. Pretty easy to install, and you definitely want to have a front and rear recovery point.
