Angry Mygig Problem??

Well we just got back from vacation and took it in for its first 3000 mile oil change and when it was all done we went and got in it and took off. The whole thing was in Spanish and we tried switching it back to English but it gave an error and i couldn't understand it because it was all in Spanish but it said something about u connect that is all i could read. So we took it back to the dealer and they said they had no idea because they could not read Spanish either so they said they would order us a new one "hope it does not take that long to get one" and they would put it in for us so we were like ok lets do that. well about 20 miles down the road the navigation stopped working and time stopped but the satellite radio is still working. so they are going to order us a new one tomorrow and he told us to disconnect the battery over night and that is what we are doing now and if that does not fix it then they are going to replace it. I was just wondering if any one had experienced this before and if undoing the battery will help.

not with the spanish thing but mine froze. I didn't disconnect the battery but let the JK sit over night with out turning it on. That worked for me. Good luck.

Unhappy Quick Update

Went back out and plugged in the battery and it was still in Spanish so i changed it to English it kind of freeked out and wouldn't change gave it a second and then i tried it again and wow it worked now it is in English but it still says we are in a town about 140 miles away so i hope it will fix its self now that it is back in English and the time is up to date now to so i don't know i cant wait for that update i hope it fixes everything. And apparently the Spanish switching thing is common.

I found it real funny that everytime I bring my rig to the dealership for work or oil changes my MYGIG has been messed with.

I deal with video surveilance systems for a living....... so just for the hell of it I put a small camera in my jeep the last time I went to get my "gascap error" checked ......

sure enough..... almost every tech and his degenerate brother was playing with the mygig......... didn't help that when they test drove the jeep they also recorded a trail....... and drooled over the pics I keep of my wifes modeling pics in the pic section (calender pics... non nudes)

Showed the recorded trail to the service manager and as a response I got "well maybe it just started recording the trail when we hooked the battery back up or flashed your codes" .

Then when I showed him the video that he was also on, i got "we are sorry and I'm sure it won't happen again".

Damn that is pretty Sh**y of them. I would have blown a gasket. Them racking up miles playing with your toys and that is all that they can say. I would take it to the owner of the dealership and see what he/she will do about it. Make em pay! LOL

I will have to do that some time to just see what they do that would be the best ever lol. On our liberty that we traded in we took in for the 4 wheel drive light not coming on when you switched it in to 4 wheel drive. they had taken apart the dash and screwed it all up lol. the light from the gauges was leaking across to all the warning lights so you could see them all at night plain as day. you know what there response was here it is WE DIDN'T TOUCH THE DASH BUT WE WILL REPLACE IT BECAUSE WE FEEL SORRY THAT IT HAPPED. i found out what happened and they had to opened the it up because they had screwed larger screws into the part that required short screws and had pushed the plastic out on the other side of the screw which seperated the plastic with the numbers on it which made the light leak through lol.

Default mygig issues

I'm having issues with the location displayed on my MyGig. It works occasionally, but it's usually way off...
The dealer is trying to "learn more" before we schedule service. But they mentioned that another customer is having your Spanish issue.
So your not alone!

having the same problem and it's driving me crazy. tell you the truth, i've never had a brand new car with so many defects: seat belts messed up, steering wheel leather cut up, overdrive switch crapped out, mygig messed up. 350 miles. who needs a lifetime warranty, i'd just like a little initial quality.

Mine is 100% fine... 2200 miles so far, 1/2 of that cross country.
