I'm just waiting for them to get their head out of their asses and make the Wrangler Turbodiesel for us in the US. Torque and more torque...

Will be keeping my 2011 for awhile. Don't see it being worth it to look at the pentastar really. Now if a diesel option comes in the future, that would be different story.

Can someone enlighten me about the CRDs? They have 339 foot pounds of torque and 200hp. Is the mileage that much better to offset the higher price of diesel?

Are you wanting more on-road or off-road torque? Off-road is pretty much solved with the Rubicon's transfer case... and on-road is pretty much solved with the Pentastar.

I'm just curious where you say the problem is today?

Sure you can. I'm not talking about a complete lift with all the goodies you need to crawl over everything, but you can most definitely stick some gears, a programmer (limited to tire size at the moment), a lift (probably without control arms), and 4 tires for $4,000 easy. No, it's not a complete overhaul, but certainly a significant start. Just don't buy them from somewhere like Quadratec or 4WD. If you have a shop do the work for you, having the gears and lift done at the same time will save you a little on labor.

Congrats on your purchase. I bought a 2011 Unlimited Rubi for about the same price as a 2-door. I must know how to bargain, too.

I considered a 2011 if I could save 3-4K. I figured if I could save that much I could use some of that to improve performance. When I found that I wasn't going to save but about $1,000 and I drove the 2012, I knew that there is no way short of supercharging the 2011 that it was going to be close.
I paid $32,464 out the door for my 2011 Unlimited Rubi, then got $600 refunded after the GAP insurance they sold me actually had less coverage and more stipulations than what my insurance company already offered, so it is possible. Just gotta look and prevent the dealership from wiggling so much. Sounds like you got a great deal, too, though.

Its much better than the Gas. I get 11L/100km arround town and my friend with the same jeep (gas) same tiers as well gets 16L/100km arround town. after driving my diesel jk, his Gas JK drives like a gutless (although quieter) slug.

Anyone think about just swapping the 12 tranny to whatever year you already have. As most say that's the best part of 12.

Or

Even Swapping the 12 engine and tranny to whatever year you have.
