New Je-at?
Automotive News learned that Chrysler plans to use six Fiat models. One is the Fiat Panda Cross, a 1.3-liter-diesel powered off-road vehicle that gets nearly 40 mpg and would likely be sold as a Jeep in 2011 with a 1.2 or 1.4 liter gasoline engine.

X2 and my guess is that it will take years to get them approved for use in the US.
The "smart car" has been kicking around in Europe for over 9 years, was high mpg but could not pass smog here. Now it has lower mpg. Fiat will not be producing a Jeep, theirs is an AWD car.

If it does get badged a Jeep, it will bring up the average MPG's of the brand thereby letting the JK survive and keeping the government off their backs. I don't know why you are all so against it.

Its cute. We have one in our parking lot at work. Ok, its not that offroad capable, but it fits below the Liberty in the subcompact range.
I think its a good idea.
