Default New Jeeper

I brought a 07 JK, had it two weeks and been jeeping in Red River, NM. I want to put a lift on it and bigger tires, but this is my daily driver. What would be the best lift and tire size for me. It will have a lot of hwy miles on it because of work, but when I go to the river or mountains, I don't want to miss out on a good off-road trail.

2.5" BB with a 34" Duratrack tire. If you stick with the stock wheels, you'd need wheel spacers.

The cost reasonable and the tires will work great as a dual needs set up.

@ both of y'all, I have a buddy that said get a 3.25 lift and 35's. I planned on getting after market rims. I am thinking about staying with 18's. He said go with ruff country because they are easier on the check book. Would that be good for me, being a dual jeep work/play?

Actually the Rough Country is very a good lift. Their progressive springs offer a nice ride ...
as long as you don't add heavy bumpers and winches

Dont settle for a basic 2.5" or 3.25" kit, go with a 3.5" Series II Kit

But if you can do it, go for a comprable Teraflex, Rock Krawler, AEV or Full Traction set up.
Well worth the $$$.

You might want to consider a 17" wheel instead of the 18" for more protection from rocks. Compare tire & wheel prices, along with sizes of tires available for each wheel size.

Most lifts will perform better than stock suspension for "road performance" if done right. The big tires are what will take away from your performance. At that point gearing and such will return your performance (some what)

As for the BB... IMO, worthless... If you keep that jeep you will end up upgrading very soon... Money in the toilet. (remember, IMO)
