Sold the 07 a few years ago and now i am looking to buy a Jeep in the near future, not sure if I want 2015 or buy used, thinking 2door Sahara if I get a new one, any suggestions? not alot of off roading, Thanks in advance

Well I have a 11 and going to upgrading to a 4dr since there's a lil one on the way and I really like the interior of the 11's on up much nicer. I'd like to keep my 3.8 just due to the fact the ease working on it vs the 3.6. But 3.6 has more power and prob gets a lil better milage.

Either way I'd look for 11's and newer just for the interior but that's me.

You want to look for 12 or newer to get the new engine. 13 or newer if you want to decrease the chance at getting a bad left side head. Also, fight hard to avoid the 3.21 gears that most JKs have. Insist on 3.73 rear gears. My 2012 JKU is about to hit 54,000 trouble free miles.

Your biggest challenge is going to be talking a dealer out of a tree on a used one. For whatever reason, these rigs hold their value and dealers mark them up like crazy (no surprise there). I'd strongly urge you to compare to what a new one would cost with current incentives (if any) compared to one that's 1-2 years old.

Im assumming 3.73 is not standard then? do you have to order a Jeep to get this? and I have seen some of these prices on used Jeeps so thats why Im thinking new

When I went looking the price difference between new and used made me decide to buy new. Better financing and new warranty coverage, for what it is worth. Get the color you want and then make it yours with the "options" you want and install.

Used you are never sure what you are getting or how it was abused. The price of used is usually fairly high for what you're getting. But sometimes you can find one that has some of the stuff done to it that you want. New is a blank slate that has warranty and you can get decent financing on. You can make it come tell yours and you will always know what was done to it. I voted new when I was in your situation and haven't regretted it yet! The biggest issue as is with any jeep is finding the money to do what you want with it...

My advice is to go NEW. Going used is a gamble when it comes to vehicle problems and proper maintenance. As for gearing, I'd suggest that you do a couple of test drives on vehicles with different gearing. I have a '13JK with a 6spd manual and 3.23 gears and I find it just fine for what I do. I get between 24 - 28 mpg on the highway, and don't do any serious offroading, so it suits me just fine.
But drive a few JK's before deciding. Last week I spent a few hours at the Chevy dealer. They offered two ski lift tickets at your choice of ski areas in New England if you took a test drive. I told the salesman ahead of time that I was doing it for the lift tickets, and he said "that's fine". I drove a new Colorado Crew Cab, a Silverado Crew Cab LTZ Texas Edition, and a new Tahoe.
Lift tickets are on the way, and a new Silverado is parked next to my JK. Life is GOOD !!!

When I bought in 2012, 3.73 gears were nowhere to be found in the NJ, PA area. I ended up ordering my jeep because I knew I wanted to tow and would not settle for 3.21 gears. I assume some dealers randomly have 3.73 gears, but that is likely the exception not the rule. To the poster getting 28mpg. Really? Come on now. I can only imagine reaching anywhere close with 100% highway, no hills, and going 55mph. I track every single fill up and now have 54000 miles on my 2012. I even have had some 100% highway trips, but never exceeded 23mpg. See actual chart below.

I was planning on driving a few different ones, Im leaning toward the Sahara as of now, is there alot of difference between the different models as far as driving and handling?
