Default Noob Hardtop Question

So I went to the carshow two weeks ago and I'm going to the dealer in a few minutes to browse while they are closed. Anywho, while at the show I noticed what looked very much like rivets where the hardtop met the 'bed' on the rightside while standing at the rear of the rig. There were bolts too of course, but what were the rivets for, they were upside down if that matters. I think there were two of them right in the middle of that three foot span.

Yep. Not really rivets, but alignment pins. One on each side.

Thanks for the info, they really do look like rivets. The dealer had about 15-20 four doors. Oddly no soft tops. Of those I looked at with the freedom top all but one had sloppy looking gaskets where the top met the door.

I also looked at durangos. They are very nice, they should have changed the name to differentiate just how different the new one is. If I get cold feet with the wrangler purchase next year it will be the Durango or the explorer. So far the Durango is slightly ahead thanks to it's roomer 2nd and 3rd row.
