What David Harriton, the Pres of AEV, told me was that both methods work and take about the same amount of time but that a lot of stuff is easier to do with the body off. If you have a way to lift the body and a place to stow it that is probably the way to go. If you had to rent a small stinger crane or boom truck to pull the body on and off body on may be the way to go.
