Noticeable difference between a 3.73 & a 3.21?

According to the jeep website all wranglers are rated at 2000

I've always said that the secret to towing is knowing. Knowing how much is too much, how to balance a load, and how to drive it. If I can drive 97,000lbs and not destroy anything then I can hook a sensible load to my JK.
True, with MAX tow. Max tow bumps you to 3.73's. Too bad that the suits made figuring out the tow pkgs and ratings similar to doing oragami with wet toilet paper.

I agree. The weight balance of a trailer makes a huge difference... not only in how your vehicle will handle but also the performance. I recently towed 5 ***********s and a dirtbike on an 18 ft car hauler. I noticed I had way too much weight up front on the tongue making the truck squat. I got about 12.5 mpg going up on that trip. On the way home I switch the atvs around and got more of the weight towards the back of the trailer. I got 15 mpg going home.
There seems to be alot of debate about the 2011 and older 3.21 gears. I have an 08 X with 3.21's and recently installed my buddies mb72's with 33x12.5x15 duratracs (not sure if it was the weight savings from the 15" wheel) but I got around just fine for 3 weeks and barely noticed a difference.
the jeep does just fine for commuting and the occasional off-road camping excursion.
I have also tried his new set of 35's on my jeep and that is where you will find yourself kicking your feet to keep up with the prius.
