Get rid of your 07 NOW...
I just did.. and in doing so, I discovered that my '07 (a rubicon with 45k miles) was worth $27,000 private party... Invoice in '07 was 27,000...
Although I was not able to sell it to a private buyer at $24,000 (that's a lot for a person do drop on a car not from a dealer) I did get $24k in trade in for it and the new Jeep was 2% under invoice. 0% financing.
I Paid $25k for my '07 1.5 years and 25,000 miles ago.. So... I was able to upgrade without losing any real money on the '07 ('cept for taxes.)
But more importantly... If you currently own an '07... and you just know that you have to have the new features on the '12s EVENTUALLY... consider this:
The '07s are 5 years old. what normally happens to the value of cars on the 6th year?
The '07s have a less desireable interior than the '10+s
The '07s - '11s have MUCH, MUCH, MUCH less desirable engineering...
For these reasons, and a few others... I expect the '07s to drop in value drasticly next year. I actually expect all Earlier JKs to lose a good bit of their value as the '12s become fully realized. Look at all the awards, and attention that they're getting... which the '07-'11s wern't even considered for.... The '07-'11s will become the undesirables.. the '07 being the MOST undesireable.
So; unless you plan on driving your '07 til it dies... Trade up NOW to avoid taking a MAJOR hit next year and beyond...
Just my educated guess...
