Mine came with tubular ones, part of the Black Appearance package. While they are unpopular with most, I actually like these better than the Sahara ones...

I have a set of those on the wifes JK unlimited.
Two reasons I got them.
One. to help our grand daughter in and out.
Two. so when the assholes that open their door into the side of your vehicle, will not hit the side but rather the side bar. So far I have cleaned off white paint, red paint, and gray paint from the side of the bars, all on the passenger side.

X2 on that.....when I bought my Rubicon, I installed the side steps immediately to aid the X girlfriend getting in and out.....but mostly to save from door dings.......The steps lasted for a while, until I broke both of them, using them as rock rails....my Rubi rock rails are back on.....just am more carefull where I park now...Was wanting to purchase aftermarkets, but now am thinking i will just modify the OEM rails when I get around to it.....

Definitely buy some sort of Rock rails...they will save you rig
