Hi,
I'm considering 2.5-3" lift with 17's and 35s. Iv got a 2010 Sahara with 3.8 and 3.73's. I know itms not ideal and there are plenty of things i can do to move closer to that but at bare minimum with the least amount of mods possible does is this setup tolerable? I didnt get a Jeep expecting to race anyone for pink slips and I'm not expecting to want to peel out. Only concern really would be if there is decent power merging onto freeways. I drive like a grampa and at most i do light to moderate trails/rock crawling. I currently get about 14mpg avg on the street. Iv got a kn filter, flashpaq set to gas saver mode and magnaflow exhaust. On highway iv gotten up to abt 18-21mpg, depends on length of trip. Longer the trip the higher the mpg climbs. Opinions?

Mine was bearable , but it's relatively flat here. My advice would be to at least get a lightweight wheel/tire combo. Also turn off your overdrive button.

I ran the exact setup you're describing on my '09 2dr. for about 2 years.. Although it was slightly sluggish, it did fine as my dd, and was great offroad.. No complaints here!!

I think CA has some hills? I would run a duratrac tire on stock aluminum wheels, or aftermarket aluminum wheels.

In Florida and now New York I dd with auto, 3.8, 5.13 and 37's! I've had this set up for 75k miles and going for 750k more!! Do it with 35's... I would get a tuner as well to help with speedo and other things! Might be able to get away with 4.88's!

It's certainly doable. I have a relatively heavy rig (steel bumpers, winch, etc) as well as heavy 35" toyo MTs and again it's doable. Certainly not the fastest vehicle I've owned but it's safe on the highway, especially if you baby it to begin with. Definitely get a chip/tuner to adjust the speedo though

I used to own a 2010 JKU Sahara, had a 4" rancho long arm lift with 37"km2 tires with factory 3.73s it was sluggish but bearable.

Thanks guys. Good feedback. I think i will most likely get 35"s. I know if i dont i'll regret it a day after riding around on 33"s. My Jeep will become my DD soon here, im excited to be sittin higher while doin it.

With the manual 6-speed its doable. With the automatic 4-spd it's miserable. Neither would be optimal obviously.

I don't run 3.73s but I do run 3.21s.

I also have 35" tires and it is definitely bearable on a 6 speed. I don't use 6th gear unless it is very flat or downhill which you don't find often here in Pa. I will be upgrading in the future but I am content with what I have now.

Does fine on-road and does fine off-road for what I use it for now.
