Wife is in Afghanistan and apparently a guy there ordered an 09 Rubi in some sort of orange colour....

We are thinking about upgrading to a 4 door Rubi 09 (through some deal over there, no taxes and whatnot) and she faxed me all the papers to my work...so I will see what they say tomorrow...keep you guys updated...it is hard to get info out of her, she doesnt know a lot and trying to talk on the phone from the Sandbox is a little trying when you are talking about something she doesnt care about lol...

 

Why can you order 09's in Afghanistan before you can order them in the U.S.?

 

Like I said I dont know all the details until I see the paperwork tomorrow....I am assuming it might be a feeler process or something as the tour she is on ends in OCT/NOV.

The first two weeks I was like "cool...get to do what I want....sit around in any state I want" Now I get home from work and am wondering what the hell to do with myself....oh well, her and I are meeting up in Thailand in June, I dont think I will come back

YA we are looking at a pretty nice deal on a 4 dr Rubi...basically 30 000 fully loaded, no taxes. As a Canadian I would pay NY tax when I pick it up but I can get that back. Then pay Ont tax at the border. All in All we are looking at saving at least 7-8000 on the purchase...

She is in Kandahar with the Multinational Bde HQ. Hot red head

pretty sure cause the vehicle is with in 2 yrs old customs Canada is going to want GST if your bringing it over the border.

don't be assuming anything or you will be walkin across that bridge over the St. Lawrence while ur jeep sits in gov impound.

Also check on your warranty. I remember a while ago, some Canadians were talking about buying on this side, then bringing them back to Canada, and ALL warranty's were void.

Since I had no intentions of crossing the border, in either direction, I didn't pay all that much attention. And, your being a military deal, this may mean nothing at all. It's a "just in case" you are not 100% positive, you might want to check into it.
Can't hurt to check.
