Default Pentastar Engine AGAIN One of Ward's 10 Best Engines

http://wardsauto.com/ar/names_best_engines_111208/

http://blog.chryslerllc.com/blog.do?...roH5Y.facebook

This year’s winners and the applications tested:

3.0L TFSI Supercharged DOHC V-6 (Audi A6)
2.0L N20 Turbocharged DOHC I-4 (BMW Z4/528i)
3.0L N55 Turbocharged DOHC I-6 (BMW 335i coupe)
3.6L Pentastar DOHC V-6 (Chrysler 300S/Jeep Wrangler)
2.0L EcoBoost DOHC I-4 (Ford Edge)
5.0L DOHC V-8 (Ford Mustang Boss 302)
2.0L Turbocharged DOHC I-4 (Buick Regal GS)
1.6L DOHC I-4 (Hyundai Accent/Kia Soul)
2.0L Skyactiv DOHC I-4 (Mazda3)
3.5L DOHC V-6 HEV (Infiniti M35h)

Of those engines, the only ones using conventional multi-port injection rather than DI are the Infiniti hybrid, Chrysler Pentastar and Ford V-8.

As someone who builds race motors, all us 2012 JK owners should bow down, and thank god (or whoever you want to thank) that our motors are NOT direct injected. You guys have no idea how bad direct injection is for the longevity of the motor. It's a crappy technology used to satisfy moronic governments/regulations at the expense (like everything else) of consumers (us.) Here is the AWESOME bonus of a direct injected engine....

I agree 100% with this ^ .... Not one of these on the list comes with a catch can either which should be standard with DI Engines.

Probably not...it can't be judged in the top 10 worst engines because it its used as the benchmark to compare the results Which makes it ineligible for the list! lol

I love my pentastar. I was always against the 3.8l being as how I was raised on the torque and durability of the 4.0l, and when the Pentastar came out I gave a shot. After buying one 2 days after that test drive I have yet to be let down by this motor. I can't wait until more things become available for the new engine bay(onboard air, duel batteries, etc.). I think Jeep made a great step in new direction with this one. Now if only we could get a Hemi or a Diesel.

By the way why wasn't the Hemi on this list. 395hp and 22mpg in a quad cab pickup kinda speaks for itself.

22mpg? Maybe if you drive downhill all the time. Everyone I know that has one says they don't get above 14-15 maybe 17 if you drive like an old lady...
