PETITION -- JK Clockspring & Airbag Light
I reached out to the dealer I purchased my clockspring from and they notified me that I'm part of the recall. The dealer I purchased from hasn't said anything and I've not received any paperwork from Chrysler.
Going to Safecar.gov should give you a place to put in your VIN and check to see if you're a part of the recall.

Well I called Chrysler today to ask about the recall on the clock spring for 2007 models and they acknowledged it after checking my VIN, which is great , didn't need to put up a fight . I was a little worried after reading some of the comments on here. Have an appointment tomorrow AM , will keep you guys posted
I replaced the clockspring in my 2008 rubicon last season. ($167 on Amazon)
Now that it's under the recall I'll be requesting reimbursement.
I'll also be requesting the full recall remedy.
It's not just the clockspring, the remedy includes a column shroud and a wheel back cover.
So the replacement clockspring I installed has been unprotected.
Since the protection is part of the recall, it must be important.
I'm not letting them slap on the (new) shroud and cover without the new (3rd) clockspring.
It's an easy DIY repair. Save your receipt, it's pretty likely you'll be covered eventually.

Got my letter today. They said they'd contact me when parts are ready. I wonder when that will be? Mine isn't showing the symptoms yet, but I'd like to get this thing taken care of.
