Default Power Windows or Manual?

Do you folks like power windows/door locks, or manual windows/door locks?

I intend to order a Rubicon Unlimited without the power group, but I am wondering if it will harm my resale/trade in value a couple of years from now.

Resale value? You thinking about selling already?? In all seriousness, I hardly think it would make a difference on a Rubicon Unlimited. The buying market for one of those is not the same as X or Sahara.

BTW, welcome to JK-Forum

Get the power windows. You'll be glad when you want to roll up rear windows doing 80 and it starts to rain.

It also comes with a package that has keyless entry and an alarm if I read it correctly.

The Power package/with Power Windows has to help any future trade in value........I love my power windows , very convenient, but in my case I wish the controls were on my door instead of the center of dash. Very funny story, we couldn't find the back seat window controls(looked all over the doors)), yesterday on a country ride, my 12 yr old Granddaughter said PaP, what are these buttons on the back of the console while she was putting her drink in the cup holder,:o End of story....

I say get the power windows if not for the power door locks alone, especialy with the four door. One press of the button, bam! everything locked and alarm set. No running around the car making sure every door is locked. You will spend $300 minimum to get an aftermarket alarm anyway.

Does anyone know if the power locks lock the rear door also? I hope so.

Ya, they all lock,............. I just programed "all" my doors to open on (1) one push of the keyless control. Then I checked it and all the doors plus tail gate was locked, when pushed to open all doors, the tail gate opened also. I hated to push the button 2 times to open for my Granddaughter, so thats fixed.
(Just hold down lock button for more than 4 seconds but no longer than 10 seconds, then push unlock botton down at the same time, then release both at the same time.. done).

Thanks for all your replies, so far.

Okay, I am a little bit surprised. Actually I am a little bit disturbed.

I happen to want manual windows/locks, and it is starting to look as if that may be a real handicap to me when I try and sell it in a couple of years (to get a diesel).

Nobody else wants manual windows/locks? For that matter, am I the only one that does not want ABS and stability control (que theme music from movie "Psycho")? Would folks like a power seat and power roof option?

I am just curious?

Wayofflife is correct if you're going to sale it outright(probably won't matter)) ,... if traded in, those buttheads at dealer want to know if your vehicle has the chrome air valve cap option(just kidding). No I don't need the power or roof option, the next thing will be (beam me to my JEEP Scotty)
I'm a Disabled Vietnam Vet, so the power window's definitely helps.

It depends. You like half doors?

I'll consider ordering power windows once I know how much a set of half doors is gonna cost. Full doors are great in winter, but in the summer, they suck. I'd be willing to get a pair of both though, if the price isn't too horrendous.

Sign me up for that power roof option! You could just get the power windows and locks for the resale value, then when you want to lock your doors you could just run all around the car and lock them all individually. For that matter you could hold the power window button down and rotate your arm in a circle while the window goes up. Problem solved!

Let's face it, most people like conveniences today. If you are trading it in someday you may get a little less for it without the power group, but then again you paid less. If you were selling it yourself I bet 9 out of 10 people would pick one with power over one without it. Probably not much of an issue on the 2 door as you can just reach over and lock and roll, but with the 4dr I think I would get it.

By the way, my daughter loves the winding thing on my son's TJ. I guess because she has never really seen one before. "Oh cool, it's got a windee thing, can I wind it please. please!"
