bingo!! we have a winner
never inflate tires to the max pressure on the sidewall... always use the sticker on the door jamb of the vehicle as a reference.. and then if you're running larger tires than stock, you adjust from there...
FYI... i'm running 28 psi in my 35/12.50R17 MTR Kevlars on stock rims with good results...

when over-inflated only the center of the tread is making contact with the pavement... hence poor traction...
you also noticed it doesn't ride like fred flintstone's car anymore now
plus your tires should last longer, too
