Project Old School

old Muscle cars are re-done by automakers. How about a "old school" Jeep. What do yall think? white wagon wheels, bright stripes. I think I like it.

Yeah, some auto makers are making cars that look "kinda" like the old cars.
Hasn't Jeep always been doing the same thing with the Wrangler? It looks "kinda" like the old Jeep of yesteryear.

Jeep went a step further and gave the JK an engine with power remiscent of yesteryear. :rotflmao2:

Yeah, that's what our Jeeps are. The only difference is that they've kept the same general look all of these years. Rather than going back to it.

Btw, the later 304 V8s make our 3.8l look like power houses. They didn't even have any more torque than our engines do and they had like 130 hp. :D

I was wondering about that. Back in the '70s, I saw a lot of Jeeps with V8s, but never knew if they were factory installed or not. I'll have to do some homework on that.

Yea, AMC put V8's in factory but the usual engine swap in my part of the country (70's & 80's) was a chevy 350. Which by the way the HP of a carbureted 350 was right around 200 and with a lot less MPG than we have in the 3.8. I have the Tim Taylor syndrome like many people here but all in all the 3.8 ain't that bad when you put it into context.

BUT, did they rumble like today's V8s? Sometimes, it's the little things in life that matter!
