Question about OEM soft top
I am considering getting rid of my hard top, and getting a soft top. How hard is it to put the top up or down? How long does it take to put the top up or down? Is it something my wife could do if I'm not around, or does it require two people? I like the idea of the top being with the Jeep in case it starts to rain, or if my family gets cold.
Thanks,
Thanks,

I can't imagine living in IL it would be good to have only a soft top. Get both.
I have a hard top for winter, highway trips, and leaving my jeep at the airport, etc.
I have a soft top for summer when there's a chance of rain.
I find the hardtop of my TJ was easier to put on than the soft top to the JK ( I have a great hoist system in my garage) but I also like the ability to have the soft top along in case of sudden rain. Now if I can only get myself to shell out the bucks for soft doors.

It will take a few times to get used to putting it up and down.
It helps to be in the sunlight and have it be more pliable, which makes it easier to put down. I have no experience with the '10 version of the soft top, but the hardest part of the '09 version is the plastic latches that are above the door, takes a couple of times to get that down.
And no it doesn't take two people to put it up or down, although it helps. I recently just learned that I could push up the entire soft top using the bar underneath so I didn't need to struggle trying to pull it up using the front. (this is a bit difficult to imagine if you haven't used the top)

When I put the soft top up or down, I found it easier to be inside the Jeep. I remove my shoes, and I put one foot on the front seat and the other foot on the other front seat
