[QUOTE="Mountain Man Tim;3955280"]the roof leaks like a siv if you dont tighten the shank bolts that go through the soundbar, if you leave them off, ya youre gonna get wet, if you hand tighten them to snug, i havent had a drop get in yet.
What Tim said. The only time I had mine leak was in a torrential downpour, when I left those bolts out. The salesman said you could, so I did. I put the bolts back in...no leaks. I chalk that up as my fault, and not a flaw in the top. I live in Mississippi. We get a ton of rain here. If it was going to leak, it would leak here.

If the door surround is not properly installed on a Jeep running a soft top, it will leak like that. My '09 leaked on the passenger side. The only way I knew it was wet carpet. There is a very thin little piece of weatherstripping at the top front of door, that if not installed correctly can cause that problem.

So it sounds like without a doubt the 3.6 with the new 5 speed automatic is far better than the 3.8 6 speed manual I am currently running. The same I think with the hard top over the soft top less water issues and quieter than the flapping soft top. Tomorrow I'm going to do battle with a salesman to see if I can get the price where I want it and with any luck maybe I'll be coming home with a 2014 JKU in the anvil color which looks badass in my opinion!!

I have a 6 speed manual in the 2012, and I like it. I test drove a 2013 automatic the day I bought it & it was much superior to my '09 automatic. The '12 was cheaper, had 3.73 gears and limited slip in the rear, and a lot of other nice options, so I took the manual.

ive yet to have damp carpet or water in my full size mud mats, lots of debris i track in, but no water you do have to firmly shut your doors of course, as with all jk/jkus, otherwise you get a light saying its ajar, and of course it would leak left like that.
