Default A quick saver on DEATH WOBBLE!

I have read multiple threads on death wobble. I don't know all the causes and fixes for death wobble, but my jeep having death wobbled several times on me now(most during my battles with the trac bar) I have found a way to get it to temporarily stop the wobble.

When the insanity starts, don't panic and hit the brakes, start to wiggle your steering wheel back and forth 1/4 turn at a time, during the midst of all this start to apply your brakes gently. Also, making a turn seems to stop the wobble, the pressure of your jeep's weight pushing on your steering seems to almost immediatly stop the wobble(this may not be possible due to traffic or tight roads).

I hope this helps, a little bit!

I do know that most death wobbles are caused by bad tie rod ends, and worn out ball joints!

I too have experience the "death wobbles" I took it to Jeep a couple times before they were able to fix or at least disguise it. In my case the steering dampener was completely shot. It has now been replaced and seems to have resolved the problem. We'll see.
