I'll put a vote in for black. I have had a black vehicle for the past 10 years and love it. Of course, I don't think you can go wrong with any color you pick if it's a Jeep. They all look great. Get the Rubi, you will love it. I love mine and grin every time I get behind the wheel.

Default Options

Bro,
If it has all the options (gears, sway bar, etc) that you want, then grab it. After a few years, take it down to the local Line-X and get it covered inside and out. I did that to my old '85 CJ7 and never regretted it. I am planning on doing the same to my new Rubi after a few years. I ordered a black one, but that's just because I couldn't find all the options on a 2010 within 600 miles of my dealer. Good luck!

Go for it! I wanted the orange among a couple other colors but all I could find in a Rubi 2 door 6 speed was yellow. I was hesitant at first but I love it now. The interior is all black and gray so it's easy to match. I painted my vent bezels yellow to kind of accent/tie it together. Easy and cheap.
If the dealer called you, you already have the upper hand. Hammer him!
How would you feel if you went back and it was gone?

The mango tango is really sharp, I'd buy it.

IMO a Jeep needs to be a bright and in your face color....helps screem I'AM A JEEP, no mistake about it.

Detailed to the 9's, or covered in mud, you won't want to take your eyes of it, go for it.

Like you, I have been researching and wanting for a LONG time. One of the things I did to help me determine which color I wanted / had to have was to look at the threads on this forum. I looked at how the color looked with top off, with doors off, and with all of the mods I wanted on my Jeep. You have 13 dealers within 100 miles of Miami and according to the online inventory, there are at least 8 JKU Rubicons in stock between the first 4 dealers!

Never settle for a color on a vehicle that you want to keep for a long time, you will always resent making that concession. I know, I HATE my silver Impala!

I've been looking at jeeps for over a year an a half. As a kid I saw them and felt a pull towards it but also felt it was just a bit to ugly- truth be told. I thought - as a 12 year old - it would be so much cooler as a 4 door. So, here we are.

I want to buy one and I'm ready. I will lease cars in the future (the plan now) but I want to pay for the jeep - given some time - and have it to own outright. the idea is to one day have it as a 2nd/garage/fun vehicle. So, I thought, perhaps I should get a used 2007 with tow package/4.1's and scrap the Rubi. However, I settled on go big or go home. 2010 Rubicon with extended warranty so I can take care of her from the start. This way I get the T-case/gears/axles/discos already installed and warrantee.

So, there is this Mango Tango the local dealership was giving me the reach around on. now, the month is coming to a close and no one wants the color so they've called me back ready to make a deal I would most likely never get on a stone white. I like the orange BUT when you get a colored jeep, your secondary color is spoken for. In other words, if I want colored seats, shocks, undercarriage armor, etc, I'll have to get it in gray, black, orange, or a combination of them. If I get white or black, I can pick any secondary color I want.

I am also worried about whether or not I 'll get sick of the orange....
hmmmm.

Thoughts?
Anything else to consider you can think of (would be your worry) off hand??

a new 30K car is a big decision. Especially when the gas mileage blowsssss. I am hoping to get one within the next couple of days.

THANK YOU!!!

Need I say more!!

Default Thank you for the insight!!! (frkn outraged)

Thank you everyone for your input. Your words are inspirational and are parallel to my sick, but relatively modest (only because I haven’t spent the money yet) obsession with a JEEP!!!!

THIS IS MY NEXT POST>

I got a phone call last week from Bob and separately, from Dave (I'm going to call them 'the bobs.' Both, on separate occasions had said they were sales managers at the Massey Yardley Jeep Chrysler dealership in ft. Lauderdale.

The first phone call from the BOB's; "I've had that Mango Jeep on my lot for too long and I need to sell it, why don't you come back in and we'll make a deal." To which I said; "no offense, I understand you want me back in there but if I'm going to be charged 35,500 then there’s no reason for me to come in, I don't want to waste any ones time (I said this as politely as humanly possible)." Bob said; "I know you were thinking at or around 30k and we were at 35,500, so lets talk and I'll get you to where you want. So, I'm thinking 32-33k. This I was willing to do.

The second phone call from the BOB's. This was 2 weeks later. "I still have this jeep sitting on my lot and need it out of here." To which I stated, again, I don’t want to come in there and find that I'm being charged sticker price." He asked me what I wanted to pay, so I said "30k." He said; "well, if you'll eat the tax, then we can make a deal." So I told him I'd be in on Saturday morning.

Now, at this point I thought I found my Jeep- finally. I let myself get excited, as I was buying my first car (yes jeep, just sharing the concept). I told people, I'm going to have a jeep over the weekend. I saved up 15k to put down and I was ready to roll. So, my girlfriend comes in from out of town. Do you know why? Because we're going to go get it together.

Saturday morning comes around and we hop into my 2000 dodge intrepid (which I took great care of ;-) and drive to the dealership. there she was, sitting there (the rubi, not my gfriend). I walked in and shook some hands. they went to grab my file. they came back and said; "well, nothing has changed, we're still at this number '$36,765' ready to buy?" So I explained to them that I have been back in forth with not just one BOB, but two entirely separate and apart from each other BOBs and we came to a fair price at about $32k.

So, do you know what BOB #3 said to me (newly named first hand management named BOB for the sake of posterity)? "Well, I don't know who they were but this is the price. those Bobs are just a voice whose jobs are to get you back in here."

To which I asked; "SO YOUR TELLING ME THAT YOU PAY 2 SEPERATE PEOPLE TO CALL ME, AND ON BEHALF OF YOUR DEALERSHIP, LIE TO ME?"

To which he said; "YES"

So I walked out.....Car salesman continue to retain the title "Scum of the Earth"....no offense to the good ones out there.

Anyone know where I can get a mostly loaded 2010 Unlimited Rubicon for 32k

Do yourself a favor, and start recording your calls!!!
Then, the next time something like that happen, ask for the managers and play the tape, if this will not work, you can:
1. Call any radio station, you have it on tape, they love stories like that! and that will kill that dealership... (and you will get your 30K deal for sure)
2. or... sue them in court! (for them bothering with a fake deal) who knows... you might win a free Jeep!!!!

p.s:
you don't want to buy a brand new Jeep form "that kind of a dealer" anyway.
If I where you, I will stay away... and try a different Dealer!

I would think there are at least 10 or more dealers within 2 hours of Miami. Search the Jeep site by putting in different zip codes and look at their inventory. Florida is a heavily populated state and I would expect a lot of Jeeps for sale in southern Florida.

I purchased my 09 Unlimited Stone White Rubi for around 32K pretty much fully loaded - minus side air bags and soft top. This was when the factory was shut down and supply was limited. I had to travel two hours, but it was worth it.
