Default Rear View mirror blocking front view

Has anyone else noticed that the rear view is making a huge blind spot looking out the front windshield. I'm 6'2" and every time I look right over about the passangers side headlight area all I see is a big mirror. Have to duck to look around it.

Turn it 180 degrees so the wide part is on top and then make sure it is pushed up.

I want to take it off... but the state says that if it came with one... I have to keep it. Does it spin around? or do you have to take it off and re-mount it?

I have not spun Mine around, but have pivoted the arm up, then tilted the head back down. It made a big diff. for me.

That thing is a menace! I commute from the highway every day. Coming around the off ramp going home, there's a stop light. I have to assume it's red every time becuase that damn thing is in the way of seeing it!

I couldn't do it with my 05 because it had the compass/temp. The 08 flipped over nicely and is pushed against the top of the windshield frame. Makes a huge difference. No matter how tall ( or short ) you are it gives you more clear space to look through.

The YJs were terrible with the mirror in the center of the window and wipers going right across the window too.

Well.. I pushed it... spun it... talked to it funny. Still in the way. I'm glad I'm not the only one. I like the mounting it to the top of the windshield idea. but for now. Gone! I'll wait and see if the inspection joint notices in two years when I have to get it inspected. Till then, sitting in a box on the top shelf in the garage... right next to my 05 silverado mirrors.... hey.. any one need a set of stock silverado side mirrors.... lol... I forgot they were up there.
