Question Rubicon 44's.

I was talking to a guy the other day who seemed to knowledgeable about Jeeps. He told me that the Dana 44's on the Rubicon actually had 30 or 35 axles in them. This is the first time I ever heard that. Is it true?

Hmm, I'd like to know how much this guy actually knows about Jeeps.

The TJ front 44's did have dana 30 outers on them.

I believe the axle tubes were the same as the 30/35 IIRC (could be wrong though). But they still had the 30 spline axles in them.

But the JK D44's are a whole new design that shares nothing in common with other Dana 44's other than ring gear size

But what makes a Dana 44 a Dana 44 is the ring gear size.

Thats alot of axles to put in a 44. I think they only need a right and a left.

I just re-read the post, I wondering if he is talking about the axle splines...

If so, the front 44 is 30 spline with 32 spline outers, and the rear 44 is 32 spline.
