Default Rubicon do Rubicon?

What's the straight dope, will a stock JK Rubicon do the Rubicon and Dusy-Ershim or must I install 35's, 4" lift, regear...? I have time off in early July and would like to tackle one of the forementioned trails with a winch and skid protection only. The other mods will have to wait until next year. Anyone with experience on those trails have anything to offer?

If memory serves me well they actually did the Rubicon trail in the TJ and JK Rubi's when they came out with them, bone stock.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Correct.
If you do a search, you should be able to find some write-ups on it from some of the magazines.

I have seen videos of the Rubi doing the trail, and it made it, but there was some damage. I would think with a good spotter it would be possible.

And the video I saw was comparing the exterra, fj, h3 and rubi. and all of them made the trail but the Rubi had the least damage to it. and I would say as far as damage goes, some higher clearance bumpers and skids would probably avoid all of it.

Jeep used to run all of their "trail rated" Jeeps on the Rubicon (hence the designation), the Commander and Liberty both have done it, albiet with some trail damage. The pics & info are out there somewhere. There has been a ton of video of the stock JK Rubicon on the trail, I seem to remember one of the first big press events was on the Rubicon Trail.

I remeber them talking about running the Rubicon Trail without any add on's.
I think I would want to have a little more height and bigger tires. And a great spotter!
