Default Rubicon or Sport - Question for a newbie

HI all, my first post and love the forum, learning heaps.

My big question is whether to buy a Rubicon or not? Are the extras worth the additional price or is it better buying a sport and putting in lockers etc

Any thoughts and comments appreciated.

For me personally i did think the rubi was worth it. my end game plan is 35's a 3 inch lift and armor all which works well with the stock rubi lockers / 4.10s / d44's / e discos etc etc

Search "sport vs rubicon" there's a bunch of threads to read. It's a heated debate but it comes down to mechanical knowledge, money, time & use.

Not trying to hate but please use the search function before this turns into another one of these internet brawls.

If you have to ask, then the sport is likely the way to go.

Yes he should use the search and people have already told him that. To say automatically to get a sport before he can research is bogus. This is an open forum to learn and pass on info

Cheers, cant seem to get a result using the search function hence the query... Im coming out of the landrover scene, so I see 4.11's and lockers as standard being a great advantage, but the query really relates to modifications I guess on the surface Id start with the Rubicon but its also 20% more expensive, so was more looking for a justification of the additional costs involved verses making the mods.

Thanks guys and good to be here, the forum seems to have some friendly folk.

If you have the money now buy the rubi .... but at the end of the day it comes down to the axels . If you like doing your own work buy a sport and put a d60 up front, and a nice long arm kit. Your net price will be about the same (once again If you do all your own work) Most impotent thing is to find a mod friendly dealer! Good luck and welcome to the jeep family ( we are much more fun then the land rover guys
