Rubicon suspension fit on an X?
I have a 4-door Rubicon and my neighbor is interested in the original suspension, he has a 2-door X.
Does the 4-door fit on a 2-door frame? I just got the parts out of storage and I figured we might be able to simply compare parts but we haven't had the time. I was hoping someone could tell me whether the frame length makes a difference.
Thanks in advance,
Beel

Everything should fit just fine. Shocks, Springs, Sway bar links, all the same. Installing your 4 dr springs should actually give her 2 dr about an inch of lift. Your Rubi shocks will definitely be a great upgrade for her X. It's very easy to install, just make sure to carefully secure the jeep on jackstands on level ground. Remember when you lift the front end to put the Jeep in drive or 1st gear in 4Hi so it doesn't roll. Also, before you lower the axle to install the new springs, take the brake line frame mount loose so you have plenty of slack. Also, when you have trouble getting a spring in or out, try jacking up the opposite side of the axle a little, really helps. I just did this yesterday replacing my budget boost. You will need a 3/4" wrench, a 3/4" socket, a 10mm socket, and I believe an 18mm socket. Just be very careful and meticulous, and you should be fine. Sounds like a great upgrade for your neighbor.
Now the big question is what is the going price for the entire setup?
I've got everything, shocks, coils, etc. There is less than 10 miles on the original suspension as it was removed and replaced before I even picked it up from the dealer.
Thanks to everyone for their help.

no, different models have different spring stiffnesses depending on factory configuration. For example a stock 4dr. X with the factory tow package and hard-top will have stiffer springs than a Rubi without the tow package and a soft-top.

the springs and shocks are different the rest is the same. so replacing the control arms and links would be a waste.
highly recommend the spring/shock swap as I did this and gained an inch as well as a much firmer ride off road.
mind you I got the rubi set up for free. just kept the control arms and links for spares
