Default Rubicon? Is it worth it?

I'm in the market for a new JK, is it worth it to get a rubicon for the lockers? Open to all opinions! Thanks!

I think it's worth it just for the 44 in the front, but that's just me.

Depends if you are building a rig or just want something out of the box.

Personally not a fan of all the electronic gizmos.

Yeah I agree. I like to keep it classic and not waste 10,000$ more just for the rubicon. I'm considering a sport and then making all my mods to it. Like 44's front and rear

10k is a big jump in price. I love my Rubi not just for the Dana 44 and lockers but the 4 to 1 transfer case makes all the difference for crawling. If you are just doing light trail stuff no worries with the other models. If you are going to eventually build it up, that's when quite a few owners wish they started out with the Rubicon. It costs more to add features that the Rubicon already has rather than just purchase it from the start. But if I was planning to do an extreme build with Dana 60's, an Atlas T-Case and larger than 37's, I would start out with a Sport Model. Don't waste your money on the Rubi and swap all that stuff out. Hope that helps, it just my 2 cents..

A Rubicon is not worth it?

Dana 44 in front and rear - by the way they have better axles than the Sahara and Sport.
E-lockers front and rear
Swaybar discos
Mud terrain tires
4 to 1 transfer case
4.10 gears

Plus all the extras you get over a sport and not having to add them as options.

Call me crazy, but my biggest regret is not shelling out the extra 3k for a Rubi over my Sahara.

I love my Rubi and feel I would be regretful if I bought a Sahara or a Sport.

Thanks! I was planning to buy a low end model and build it up with dana 60's, 4" lift and all that good stuff. I do more trail runs now but I'm beginning to do more rock crawling, hopefully I don't regret not getting a rubi. Thanks for your help!

For me it was a matter of time.

I hardly have time to build up my Rubi.

I can't imagine having the time to start with a sport.

Whichever way you go, you will be happy. Never met a rubi owner not happy or a sport owner not happy.

it was worth it to me.
the trails I run are mostly rock.

I had a jeep prior to this one and built it up.

I wanted one built out of the box and a warranty with this one.
