Default So, it had to be done... First time takin'er offroad

The day I drove my Jeep home, I couldn't help but analyze everything around me from the median strip to the woods lining the road.... Thinking to myself, i'm in a Jeep and i could easily tackle that! After having it for a month now, it was time to put'r to the test!

So, off to Flagpole in the GWNF we went! Being a first time Jeep owner and in a relatively stock JK, I was unsure how it would handle offroading. Heck, after seeing all of the beefed up and built rigs in videos, I even doubted that she'd be able do all that much "stock". BOY WAS I WRONG.... I still sit here amazed at what that little beast was able to accomplish as a stock (for now) Jeep. We went along with a friend who's rig is built and is way more experienced than me and I was pushed to tackle everything from mud to rocks and I'm truly amazed at how capable they are stock. Not once did I feel like it was struggling or couldn't do it...... bad ass

Anyway, I'm a little depressed at some of the scratches delivered to it thanks to a tight trail, but it was inevitable and as you all know, the fun of offroading was more than worth it!!

Just wanted to share my experience and my amazement at what that little bastard can do. Can't wait to start building it and see what it can do!! Without a doubt, the greatest toy i've ever bought and i'll never be without one!!

Mine surprised the hell out if me and my girl when it was stock. The rocks it made it over was unreal. Even with stock SR-A's. I wished I had rock rails though cause they were much needed.

Can't wait to get my lift on and try out my new tires.

Looks like you had fun!

If the scratches do not penetrate the clearcoat, a good wash/wax makes a lot of them disappear. I have come out of the trails thinking it was tore up much worse than it turned out later.

But I also have some that are not going to buff out.

Definitely loads of fun... Anxious to go again, that's for sure and even more excited to get some tires and a lift!

I do think the majority of the scratches are light enough that they'll buff out.... It'll just take some patience and a little elbow grease! It'd probably be in my best interest to buy one of those electric buffers considering this is the life i've chosen! ALL HEIL THE MIGHTY JEEP!

The hard part is done. Now you can feel good about getting her dirty again. You are right, even stock the JK is a very capable rig. I too was amazed when I took my stock 2 door out for the first time and was able to run every trail in Uwharrie.
