The worst is being stuck in traffic next to road construction, and the ground is all torn up and muddy. I think... "I could drive through there..."

YEAH!! I do that on a daily basis!! It's great! I envision myself ripping through and slinging mud and shit all over the poor saps stuck in traffic in their little cars...

OP - use a cheapo lawn sprinkler under the jeep to remove the mud. Let it run for a while, and the mud will fall right off. I know it's hard once the bug hits, but don't buy anything other than recovery gear; rock rails; and maybe diff covers if you see rocks. Keep wheeling stock, build your skills, pick lines. Do lots of upper brain thinking to select the lift/ tires/ bumpers you want. This way you have a plan for your build for the type of trails you hit. If you use the smaller brain....you may buy things more than once. Jeep wave.

Great advice, my friend. Thanks! It's gonna be next year before budget constraints allow some building anyway. That gives me lots of time to decide and hone my skills!

I definitely wanna get some rock rails and covers ASAP!

Glad you had a good time. I'm going up there in a few weeks. I plan on having some good old fashion fun with the Jeep fishing, camping, and hiking.

There are definitely some great trails and camping spots up there! I'm fortunate to live so close to it!

We encountered one (luckily small) tree across the road and a couple large ones that were OVER the trail but high enough to pass under, so I'll definitely bring a chainsaw next time.... Just incase!
