Default So I was Rear Ended today....

Yes... as I (The Dread Pirate Westley here) was sitting at a light, I hear (not feel oddly) a loud Thump, crash, tinkle (glass shattering) and look in my rear view mirror and see a little Honda buried under my rear bumper. I pull off to the side, and get out and wouldn't you know it... he got some red paint on my tow hitch.

That was it... even my backup camera is fully intact.

His car on the other hand has a hole ripped through his hood, front end completely destroyed (love the crumple zones), and headlights, radiator, etc.. demolished.

Can I say how much I love my Jeep?

I feel bad for the kid though... he had liability only, and the Jeep wasn't even damaged....

Totally stock rear bumper. Got me thinking though had I rear ended someone with my Hanson bumper and the winch... what does that do to a Honda?

nice, i got my hi-lift back there. it's not mounted super strong, but I'd imagine it to hurt a little.

I had the same thing happen a few months ago. Visually there didn't appear to be much damage, however once I started doing a side by side with my wife's JK I started noticing subtle differences. The bumper underneath the plastic cover was slightly damaged along with some exhaust damage. I ended up getting a check in the mail and am now trying to decide what bumper I want to replace the stocker with...

If you had some exhaust damage, I would look at transfer of energy through the tail pipes to the manifold. I know some have had manifold problems and wondering if the cause form rocks or hits from behind might have some effect? m2c
