So some idiot...
I'll post pictures later if you guys want 'em (it's totally not much of a big deal in damage), so this idiot in one of those small bobcat tractors dented my stock front bumper, see here's what happened, my dad was fixing up his ford sunseeker so there was no way for me to park my JK in the garage.
I parked my car on the other side of the road and left enough room for a bus to park in front of me, and this idiot with his tractor was reversing and gave my front bumper a good healthy dent and kept on doing his job, I yelled at him to come over and see what his idiocy did to my front bumper, I called the police so I get papers for my insurance, to our surprise the dude didn't have a driver's License!!
everything went well, I got my paper to hopefully replace the bumper, but then I thought of it, it's about time I got me a more serious bumper than the cheap plastic one Jeep supplied as a stock bumper

I hate those bobcat people! lol I was so nervous once because of one. He was plowing the snow in the parking lot at a swiss chalet, and he kept doing donuts and going by very close to the jeep and other cars. It was very stressing to watch from inside the restaurant.
Why wouldn't that be possible? I had someone back into my front bumper and damage it. I found out from the dealer how much it would be to replace it. I got their quote, gave it to the guy and I got the money and bought a new steel bumper. Either way, the bumper from the dealer, or a new bumper still costs the same.

it may depend on the insurance company. fortunately, i haven't had too many insurance claims, but i hit a deer once and my ins. co. had me get an estimate from the body shop i wanted to go to. i went to the local dealership and then they wrote a check payable to my dealer.
i think they wanted to avoid people getting in accidents and spending the money on other things. this was about 7 years ago and i don't deal with that company anymore.....but not for that reason.

Do you need a license to operate a bobcat?
We have them at my summer job, and you can't see anything behind you. Plus, it's hard to feel anything. Those things are stout.
Did you park there after he started doing his work??? Or while he was doing it?
It's highly advisable to not park anywhere near a bobcat. Like I said, anything behind you is a loss cause, because the blind spots on those are incredible.

Try to get a quote for a new stock bumper, get the check fom the insurance company and go get a new bumper. I keep hoping someone will back into mine, so i can upgrade
also, was the guy operating the bobcat working for a company or had he just rented it? If he was working for a company, contact them and see if they'll just pay you for the new bumper, that way your insurance isn't even involved.

I ran over a spray paint can on the base I work on. The Gov paid me $1600. for the damage. The overspray came off the body with laquer thinner and who cares about the inner fender. I bought a front and rear bumper for about 1/2 of the money and payed bills with the rest. Worked out pretty good, but it took about 6 months to collect. Thats the type of money you get when you give them estimates from dealerships
