Default Soft Top in Car Wash Question

This may be a really dumb question, but could I bring my Jeep through the car wash with the soft top on? The only times I ever went through the car wash was with my hard top on because I heard somewhere that you cant go through with the sof top. I was temted to today so I called the dealer and they said not to do it because it may make it leak. Has anyone gone through with the soft top and did it damage it in any way? I know this is a retarded question but I want to be sure before I attemt to go through.

I have seen several go thru them, I don't think there would be a problem as long as it was an occasional thing

The reason why you shouldn't is the soap is crap and will discolor your top. The dryer can stretch the canvas over time and make it loose and sloppy. You really shouldn't even put soap on a canvas top it weakens it.

i have done it a few times, no leaks... but it sounds awful when the pressure washer goes over the roof and then the high pressure dryers blow on it.... its deafening!
