I don't have a soft top but have gone with leaving the Freedom Tops off while in Down Town Chicago on several occasions. I just open the center console and glove box and leave them that way so that the idiots can see there's nothing to be had.

If they bother after that then they were inclinded to do so anyway. Nothing will really stop anyone from doing anything these days. Best to enjoy your Jeep and not worry about it.

 

The locking tuffy hatch that goes on the floor of the cargo area is great. Cover it with something like a Husky Liner and few thieves will know there is even a storage space there and if they find it they won't be able to get in.
