Someone stole my Gas cap. Why?
I parked my Jeep yesterday in a pretty busy lot at a Marina during the day. Came back and on the way home noticed my Engine light was on, I figured maybe it was for an oil change reminder. But then when I got home I noticed the Gas Cap was missing.
I didnt have much gas so I dont know if they tried to siphon it or not, even thought I read you cant on never vehicles. They also took one of my chrome tire valve covers.
What is wrong with people these days?
I got a new gas cap for $15 at the dealer. Was more of a waste of time. My engine light is still on, does it take some time to turn off? Eveyrthing else seems good, filled up the tank also, $4.11 a gallon its finally going down.

Wish this had happened last week. I was cleanin out my garage and threw mine away... I had replaced the stock one with the Mopar fuel door 6000 and saved the original "just in case."

Your engine light will not just shut off. The OBDII is reading a vapor issue due to your running your engine with the lack of a gas cap. You need to have the dealership reset it. Sorry but ya gonna have to waste MORE time due to some butthole taking your stuff.

Grr yea I figured it wasnt just going to go off, well at least it can pressurize or whatever now. The dealership sold me a gascap for a 01-06 jeep wrangler according to the Part#.
Any problems with this? it fits fine and looks the same.

I suppose I could disconnect the negative from the battery and let it sit, but I can live with it until im in the area for it to be reset, I dont want to reprogram my aftermarket deck again.
