I know a local guy that put a 5.3 in a 2,500lb drag car ran a turbo and stock long block and was running 8's in the quarter.

I'm with you on the Chevy engines. The LS motor will easily go 300k + if you keep the oil changed. I don't see these Chrysler motors getting half that. I would take a Chevy motor over any Chrysler motor any day, besides the Cummins...

I feel stupid asking this but what is an LS I haven't heard this term before. Is it a mod or a motor?

it's an engine. chevy, small block, v8. it's basically the sole power plant from the corvette. the ls1/ls6, ls2, ls3, ls4, ls7, and ls9 are all different variants of the engine

Our Supercharger systems offer a nice middle ground between the myriad of bolt-ons, and the co$t of a full blown V8 swap.

Our Stage 2 System for the 3.8L JK can add an additional 100+ WHP and +90 WTQ over stock numbers and can help return up to 3 more MPG. Our systems are 50 state legal for on road use and is a bolt on experience designed with the back yard mechanic in mind. Cost @ $5K.

Our newly released 3.6L Pentastar system JK system lets you realize 130+ WHP above stock and +110 WTQ.

Best of luck in your search for performance.

Do a compression test/leak down test. That is usually a good barometer as to what condition the motor is in.. We have had some customers install our units on Jeeps with over 100K. If you followed your regular service intervals, it may be ok.
