Default Storage box for my JK

I'm a family guy so my jeep is used for every thing. On our last outing we got caught out in the rain at night. And the next day we went on a drive and ended up fishing in some backwoods bug infested lake. So that being said, I want to buy a box to leave in the back that I can keep blankets, sun screen, tool set and some other things in. I'm thinking of getting a 36" Plano hard gun case. It should be short enough that, I can put the top down without taking it out and haul groceries. Has anyone else tried this and if not wh a t are your thoughts.

Is yours a 2 door? Or a 4 door?

This is what I did for storage.

I picked up an atv bag on ebay for around $30. Fits perfectly behind the seat on my 2 door and has buckles sewn in that were meant to attach to an atv rack which work perfectly to secure it to the tie downs. I keep tools, compressor, recovery gear etc in it on wheeling trips.

I'm liking the drawer idea more and more. Do you have any pics of the build process?
