I found mine at CarMax in Norcross GA they are a new Jeep dealer too. The only thing I got was an employee discount of $500.00 for my brother in law works for them. Still would have been $29,035 without the discount though. MSRP was $31,590. If you get a copy of Consumer reports it will list the invoice price of the Jeep and options you want. You should be able to get 1% below the invoice price with Tread Lightly or USAA. A lot dealers will match that price without going thru the programs too. Be patient and shop around it took me over two weeks to find mine. There were a couple within 500.00 of mine just not eh Gecko color I wanted. I found mine on Traderonline.com too

I love the thought of a new Rubicon, but they are soooo much $$$. I still think it is better to find a year or two old one that someone got rid of. I got my 08 in 09 with 13K on the clock. Found it at a Mercedes dealer probably from someone that realized it was Jeep after buying it. You see even folks on here trading in one year old Jeeps, there are deals to be had out there just look around. Yeah I am stuck with whatever color was there (black), but I probably saved enough money to paint the dang thing if I wanted to but why paint it when I hadn't even added the pinstripes yet... LOL

Just look around, you can find something that will work. I love the new Jeeps but still think my 08 Rubi is safer out in the rain without its top!

Good luck!

No, I think the discussion surrounding the 2014's was about the Rubicon X. You'd think it was a stripper Jeep with Rubi hardware where it mattered (lockers, swaybar disco, 4:1 t-case, etc), but no, it's yet another luxo-barge loaded to the hilt with lockers. It certainly would be nice if Jeep would entertain the idea of an absolute bare-bones Rubi, but that doesn't look like it's going to happen. You might be able to special order something but I don't know the different option packages.

If you just rolled out of a 2013 JKUR, I'm not sure what giving it up "out of necessity" means. Financial or practical, doesn't matter to me. But usually jumping back into a brand new rig is usually a horrible idea, at least for finances. Good luck.

I'm happy with my Sport and price tag. They are perfectly capable out the door just stock.

You don't need special codes to get a base Rubicon just look for 23R which is a 6 speed manual windows and locks soft top version. Comes with all the Rubi goodies (Lockers, Roc Trac, Sway bar ect..) Mine came with the leather steering wheel, chrome shifter knobs, and Alpine stereo too advertised for $29,035 which I picked up for 28,535 (relative employee discount of $500.00) plus taxes and tags.

They're out there, you just have to look for them. I bought a 2012 Rubicon without a single option last winter. I think it listed for around 32k and I bought it for around 29. There are a lot of sports that cost that much around here. I'm very happy with it, it even had 1/2 doors, a no cost option I really like. Good luck in your search.

Every new JKUR has a/c and power windows. Its not an option. You can order a JKUR with no extra options and the tread lightly discount for about $32, 000. Hard top adds $900 for black, and like $1800 for body color painted.

You can get a 2 door rubicon with roll up windows but they all have a/c. Ordering new with no options the 2 door is about $28,500 with tread lightly discount.

Some people say "all rubicons are $40k where I live". If you can live without the touch screen, body colored hard top, and auto trans, the price is much more reasonable. My special order rubicon cost less than all of the saharas and some of the sports on the lot. I just had to be patient and wait 4 weeks for a special order.

If you select the half door option it takes the Power windows locks and A/C off the invoice on the Jeep build site. Thats where I got the info from.

Your right. If you have half doors you lose power locks/windows. But the price does not drop. So there is no money saved by selecting half doors.

1/2 doors still come with A/C. At least mine did. Rubicons also come with the upgraded sound system with a sub in the back. The only option on mine was the Rubicon package.
