Sorry about the reference to sonar. I looked it up and it is a radar system:
Here are the details in case anyone is interested.

Microwave Mass Sensor (Radar/Proximity) MV1

• Designed for convertible and removable top vehicles.
• Sensitivity adjustment and trigger LED.
• Microwave beams fill the interior to detect large mass intrusions.

I think I locked my doors in 2002...once...I don't even lock them in the long term lot at the airport since no one gets in there anymore unless you're flying out.

Once I get my dual-top package this fall I will probably lock the doors, but summertime/soft top I'd rather them take my loose change or garage door opener than damage my $1000 soft top.

I'm one of those "fools" who locked my doors and had a soft top. I parked in the City of Chicago and no break-ins, cut top or cut windows for about 3 years. I bet that the minute I leave my doors unlocked, the top gets cut!

I always lock my doors. The alarm will go off if someone opens the door. I never keep anything of any value in my jeep to attract theives. I will take the rare chance of a slashed window or broken glovebox as opposed to my jeep being stolen or strangers routinely sitting in my car. I lived for a year in Houston and parked in some shady places and never had any issues.

Number one reason that I like the Stock Infinity Sound System without NAV, the Deck looks cheap, the sub looks worthless and it sounds awesome

Stupid idea to replace it unless you want your top Cut, and at 800+ for some of the aftermarket soft tops I'd rather they take everything than slash it.

I don't have anything fancy in my Jeep. Plain and simple. I believe it would be hard to steel having the chip key. I'll leave the doors unlocked as I have been doing. I'm ready for my trip to Mississippi in a couple of weeks and decided I'll be changing to my Soft Top for the warmer weather down there. It's still cold up here in Northern Alberta. Looking for top down experiance.

My wife used to work with a guy who had a convertible MG. Never locked the door. Always got his roof slashed.
