Think before you sell your JK/JKU
I have to think, that for many of us, the buying of a Wrangler is the fulfillment of a boyhood dream. I can still remember Rat Patrol, and those guys driving around in the desert with the top down, doors off, hopping in and out of they're Jeep on a sunny warm day. Hard to give up that dream once you have had a taste of it! You can bury me in my Jeep.
My 07 Rubi with stock suspension still feels better on our bumpy gravel and even paved roads than my wifes 2012 GC IMO. Her GC has crap for suspension travel and the "sporty" low profile tires do not help. I predict at the same mileage on rough roads as my Rubi her GC will have lots of suspension rattles. My Rubi suspension still rides pretty tight.
The Grand Cherokee is okay with the 3.6, but the only time I drive it is for longer trips (with no offroad involved) because it handles better at 80 than my frankenjeep, gets better mph and burns 87 octane.
Compared to my Wrangler it is very boring.

I know how you feel, man. For different reasons, I sold a 2011 Camaro SS not too long ago. I sold it for different reasons than just wanting a new vehicle; I jettisoned it because it was nearly paid off and we encountered some unexpected expenses getting into our new house. Every time I think about that car, it hurts, but it saved us from decimating our emergency fund and we're much better off as a result.
That's why I always advise people to keep what they've got, pay things down, trust their original decision to purchase a particular vehicle in the first place. You won't miss it until it's gone!

I feel the same way about an 07 Super Duty I sold, I really missed that truck. But, this Jeep is the first vehicle I have had I love as much as my SD, I cant see myself selling the Jeep at all. Its too much fun to drive, dont care about fast and power, its just a Jeep thing I suppose.
I had to trade my '93 YJ in for something that would fit my growing family. Didn't want to do it even for the reasons that I had at the time.
Watched the YJ line end and the CJ come and go. Wanted to get one every time that I saw one. Then JKUs came out and I was back at the stealership picking one out in '07. Started off easy with a 2WD version that ended trading up to a '12 JKUR before I had a chance to really start ripping it apart. This one is going to be with me until I can't revive it any longer.
